St Mary Magdalene Church, Gorleston
Size: Medium (50 - 150)
About
We are a non-judgemental, welcoming, inclusive community on the Magdalen estate with a congregation of about 80 and lots of people from the wider community involved in groups and volunteering with us. There are many opportunities to meet people, get involved, do something useful or just make friends. We have a Hope into Action supported house whose tenants we look after. We have a debt/benefits/budgeting advisor on site and a life caseworker. We have a Community Workshop (shed) and a womens' group, which is particularly supportive of those with histories of experiencing domestic abuse. And there are also of course opportunities to seek and grow in faith through courses like Hope Explored, Start, Alpha and Christianity Explored and our various Maglife groups where we enjoy fellowship, Bible study and prayer together.
When We Gather
Sundays at 10.30am, but also at many and various times for community gatherings during the week ('Bridge' lunch on Tuesdays 12noon, Communion service Wednesdays 9.30-10am, Open House coffee morning Wednesdays 10-12, Bridge Drop in on Fridays 10-12 (including Jesus Time at 11am).
